RIDER FITNESS!

As horse owners, we spend hours and hours getting our horses fit for the work intended.  However, if we are not fit enough to keep the horse going at the desired pace, then whats the point in it all.
 
Rider fitness or rarther unfitness, can be a huge problem.  Riding takes physical fitness, suppleness and, to some extent, strength.  It also takes balance and this needs developing as much as muscle tone, supple tendons and ligaments.
 
Trying to participate in activities with your horse that you are not fit enough for, may result in straining muscles, tendons, ligaments, may cause stress to the joints.  And can take the fun out of it.
 
Get as fit as your horse by participating in regular exercise with a weight loss programme if desired.
